David Ladd | Senior CBRNE Operations and Technology Services Lead

35 years emergency services operation and a recognized leader of nationally recognized emergency medical and hazardous materials/CBRNe response teams. During his tenure as the Chief of Operations at Boston EMS and as the Director, Hazardous Materials and Emergency Response for the Commonwealth of MA, David has successfully set and implemented the highest standards in practice and operations, recognized Nationwide and Internationally. Recently retired from government service, he is the owner and principal at Blackthorne Services Group, premier CBRN consulting partners for New Stone Soup VT LLC

David is no stranger to policies and procedures, having served as a valued member of the DoD-DHS Interagency Board since its inception, serving as the voice of reason and liaison between practitioners and technologists, best practices and public policy. His critical leadership, emergency response and incident management, CBRN detection skills have commanded respect from hundreds of practitioners over his decades of services.

Aaron Washington | Law Enforcement and Tactical Operations Expert

Aaron is retired Massachusetts State Police with 28 years of service. During his career he worked in Patrol, State Police Academy instructor, Ballistics, Firearm instructor, Tactics instructor, Special Tactical Operations team commander. He retired from the State Police in April of 2016.

He also managed a career in the Massachusetts Army National Guard beginning in 1982. During his 28-year military career he advanced through the ranks of Private, Corporal, Sergeant, Staff Sergeant, Sergeant First class, Master Sergeant, First Sergeant and Sergeant Major. His background was Infantry, Military Police and operations at the Battalion, Brigade and Joint Forces Headquarter levels. He retired from military service in 2010.

Mr. Washington received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Western New England College, Springfield, Massachusetts. In addition to graduating from the Massachusetts State police academy he has also graduated from the Army Sergeants Major Academy Ft. Bliss Tx.

Aaron was a key State collaborator with the Natick Soldier RD&E Center, National Protection Center – in particular project Law Enforcement Advanced Protection (LEAP), Advanced Personnel Protective Systems (APPS), and the development of the NIJ CBRN Standard.
